Cyprus Life – in pictures vs Fylde Coast Musings

Our new life in Cyprus began in early March 2004. Originally from a small mill town in Heywood, Lancashire (United Kingdom) we moved overseas spending a glorious 12 years in Limassol. Feel free to read my posts and view my many #photosofCyprus. However in 2016 we had to return permanently to UK due to family ill health. We're now living on the Fylde coast where the river Wyre meets the Irish sea in the north west of England. More places for us to discover as this part of the UK is not so familiar to us either.

Little Man Does: Malta

Me and my other half forgot to send the “Little Man” on his holidays to the kennels with Ruby the Rottie (our dog).

We decided it wasn’t fair to leave him Home Alone either and so I stuffed him into my suitcase at the last minute and took him along with us to Malta for some sightseeing and adventure…..

Here’s what he got up to:

Lunch at Marsaxxlokk Bay

On Police Duty at Mdina (the Silent City)

Big Guns at Mdina

Choosing a Christmas Tree at Mdina Glass Factory

Posing with our sales lady at Mdina Glass

Downtime at Seashells Resort, Qawra

Easy Rider at the National Aquarium, Bugibba

“I really must get myself a Smart Phone…”

Yep, I think the time is coming close when I will have to forego the use of my Nokia 6111 and turn to one of the more modern smart phones….

The trouble is, I quite like my little pink Nokia and it’s stood me in good stead for a number of years. Before getting it, I used to change my phone around the beginning of every year but this one takes some good photos which I can upload from the USB connection quite easily. Plus, I do really only use my phone to text or actually make “phone calls” – I know, it’s not really cool any more to simply phone your friends!

Nokia 6111 Cellular phone 23 MB – GSM – Frosty pink.

So, I’m open to suggestions – BUT, I don’t want any Qwerty keyboards so you can stuff your Blackberry’s as the keys are too damn small and I was taught to touch type on a full sized keyboard so they’re just too much like hard work!

I want to be able to Twitter and maybe to access Facebook or Flickr to share photos as I find ’em. I want a touch screen mobile and my eyes aren’t what they used to be so it has to be easy to read 🙂

Remember folks, I’m in Cyprus so don’t come along with any tri-band nonsense that won’t work on my sunny but compact Mediterranean island, which has a very limited monopoly of phone signal providers. I don’t want to end up like this with my Blackberry not working.

One other small thing I forgot to mention – the PRICE. I want to pay no more than €80.00 including postage and packing. Must be either sim free or unlocked. I bought my last phone on eBay UK.
