We know they are often referred to as “Man’s best friend” and it certainly proves that fact each day when I return home from my day at the office.
Indiana (Indie) a cross-breed and our oldest dog is now around 10 years of age. We brought him with us from UK when we moved to Cyprus on a permanent basis a little over 9 years ago. He was a rescue puppy from Warrington Dog’s Home where we got him a month or so after our other dog died at the age of 8 years – that was George, a Rottweiler cross with a wonderful character.
It was never our intention to get another dog before we moved to Cyprus as we knew it was inevitable we would “collect” one at some time after we arrived. But, I found it an impossible task coming home to an empty house and missing very much our old faithful that we succumbed and that’s how we found Indie. We needed a puppy because we already had 2 older cats and wanted to be sure they were brought up together from an early age.
The cats always ruled the roost in our house anyway, so Indie joined the bottom of the queue and soon got used to it. Now he’s the “top dog” but he still likes his love and attention. So every night, I get a few moments fanfare to sound that finally, everyone in our household is back in their rightful place.
Yesterday I managed to capture those moments on video with my Samsung Galaxy Ace without him realising. (He hates having his photo taken)!
