Cyprus medication price drop – February 2013

As reported yesterday in the Cyprus Mail – finally the medication prices in Cyprus have been reviewed with less than half of the 4,191 item prices being reduced. In fact only 1,892 items have been reduced with 1,815 remaining unchanged and amazingly enough 484 OTC (over the counter) non-prescriptive medication costs have increased.

One such item mentioned is Panadol cold and flu (24 tabs) which now costs €5.36 compared with €4.86 previously. “It is understood that about half of all OTC drugs available in the market are now more expensive.”
