Fylde Coast Musings vs Cyprus Life – in pictures

Originally from a small mill town in Heywood, Lancashire (United Kingdom) we moved overseas at the beginning of March 2004 and spent the next glorious 12 years in Limassol, Cyprus. Sadly, in 2016 we had to return permanently to UK due to family ill health. We now live on the Fylde coast where the river Wyre meets the Irish sea just across from Fleetwood. More places to discover and capture on camera!

Protest re: Thunder the puppy – battered and beaten over the head in Cyprus.

Following a request of the world we decided to hold a protest outside the police headquarters in Nicosia in order to ask for an exemplary punishment of the” man” who brutally beat puppy in Agia Varvara in front of small children, but also to condemn such incidents of abuse that happen frequently in our island. Our aim is to awaken the executive in order to operate according to the law because animals have rights. There will be no acceptable this time to look the other way and to cover up this case. We will continue to struggle in every way to make sure that he will be tried and punished according to the law. We ask the help of you all, to be on our side because many voices united can achieve more. We hope you support us and be there to shout with us!

Not really the “island of love” when it comes to animals.

“Thunder’s” broken leg

Trying to get up….

One very sad puppy. He is not yet 6 months old…..

Friday 29th June posted on Argos Animal Sanctuary’s facebook page:

“All the three photos below are of Thunder as he was this evening when I visited the clinic to find out how he was progressing. The vet told me that it is a miracle that this 5 MONTH OLD PUPPY has survived such a brutal beating. When he was brought into the surgery he was comatose with bleeding from the nose and hardly breathing. From the punch he received to the side of the mouth, one of his puppy teeth was knocked out and a second broken.”

We need to give this worldwide attention. There is too much animal cruelty for the 3rd largest island in the Mediterranean. Cyprus should be ashamed of itself!

Maybe the new Cyprus President for the Council of the EU for 2012 can do something? Or maybe the EU will sit up and take note of how animals suffer miserably at the hands cruel imbeciles?

Also posted on Twitter to the MailOnline.

  1. Completely unacceptable. This ‘man’ should be given a punishment equal to what he did to the dog…

Please give a date for the demonstration….
