Cyprus Life – in pictures vs Fylde Coast Musings

Our new life in Cyprus began in early March 2004. Originally from a small mill town in Heywood, Lancashire (United Kingdom) we moved overseas spending a glorious 12 years in Limassol. Feel free to read my posts and view my many #photosofCyprus. However in 2016 we had to return permanently to UK due to family ill health. We're now living on the Fylde coast where the river Wyre meets the Irish sea in the north west of England. More places for us to discover as this part of the UK is not so familiar to us either.

This was always an excellent song and I really loved the version by Richard Harris of this fantastic song as written by Jimmy Web.

But today we were all shocked to hear that Donna Summer passed away today at the nothing age of 63 years. Very scary stuff when you’re getting to your mid-50’s.

So let’s remember Donna with her live version here:

Live versions really don’t come much better than that!

And for the Richard Harris fans amongst us – here’s his version plus a montage of his movie roles:

For the music buffs too – just how many cover versions do you reckon there have been of this amazing but totally baffling song? Click the link to find out what Wiki say…

Want the lyrics? Check ’em out then tell me what it all means, please!

  1. She’s not in MacArthur’s Park but in Heaven instead, as she was a Born-again Christian, like me. So, ‘Heaven Knows’!
