From today’s Cyprus Mail:
Something is to be done about the article a few days ago regarding the allegations of inflated taxi charges from Paphos airport and that some fares were reported to have been more expensive than the cost of a Ryanair flight ticket.
What is the answer?
It seems there will be an inspection of all Paphos taxis over the next few days to check for properly functioning meters that comply with the law.
Sounds like a good move, yes?
It would be – but where else would you give an advance warning that a spot check inspection was about to take place?
Some great comments to read after you’ve got to the bottom of the article too :-)

Meanwhile, here’s a website and a facebook page that may be of interest to regular travellers or clubbers. Check out Taksidi.org where passengers can “travel together in Cyprus”. It looks like some kind of car and passenger pool service so could just be the thing that may help Cyprus residents.
The site is still under some construction so keep checking back….
