I’ve read only a couple of M.C. Beaton books in the past and this is my second in the Agatha Raisin series of novels.
This is the first of the Agatha Raisin mystery sleuth novels where she first ups sticks from her business in London and retires to the Cotswolds.
I liked the fact there was uncertainty in her decision with constant thoughts of giving up and going back to what was familiar.
The story was easy to read (much like the others I’ve read) and I tend to choose this type of novel in between reading my much heavier action adventures of Jack Reacher (Lee Child, author) books.
The “whodunnit” novels are simple but with lots of characters (a bit a la Agatha Christie who used the same format).
I read this one in a couple of days between sitting on a sunbed and my hotel room in Malta.
I will be more than happy to read more of them.
