Fylde Coast Musings vs Cyprus Life – in pictures

Originally from a small mill town in Heywood, Lancashire (United Kingdom) we moved overseas at the beginning of March 2004 and spent the next glorious 12 years in Limassol, Cyprus. Sadly, in 2016 we had to return permanently to UK due to family ill health. We now live on the Fylde coast where the river Wyre meets the Irish sea just across from Fleetwood. More places to discover and capture on camera!

Kokkinorotsos chromite mine and Ayios Nikolaos

I’d forgotten about these photos!

It’s quite a few years since one of our friends, Barry from Pachna village took us up to the top of Mount Olympus so we could follow the Kokkinorotsos Chrome mine trail from the top, down past the mine sheds and pulley system and as far as Ay Nikolaos water plant.

We finished off with a quick view of the old Asbestos mine at Amiandos.

The photos were taken with my mobile (a Nokia 6111) so they aren’t of the best quality…

  1. Unfortunately greed has led to the scrap men destroying the remains of the mines I took you to see. Such a shame.
