I’m really not into cooking. My other half Clement, does the cooking in our house so for those who know me personally will wonder why on earth I’m posting about this particular website….
The details were sent to out to all the office staff last week by one of our colleagues who needed some people to make up the numbers for a specially requested French cookery workshop that Tracy (the owner of The Cookery School) kindly agreed to add as an extra.
Tracy’s passion for food and cooking started when she was little and led her on to complete a Cordon Bleu Diploma Course after finishing high school. It all went on from there and Tracy continued her cookery journey running her own restaurant, managed hotels, became a Contract Catering Manager and then a regional Quality Manager, opening a private catering business and eventually culminating in lecturing Cookery Skills and Restaurant Management at Manchester University. (She was just spitting distance from my own home town in UK).
Now based in Cyprus, The Cookery School offers some amazing training course and workshops with some aimed at teenagers from the age of 13 years and upwards with generally no more than 6 people per group.
The workshop sessions begin with a demonstration – followed by putting the theory into practice and producing food that can be eaten at The Cookery School along with a glass of wine or taken home to show off your expertise. The cost is around €40 per workshop and includes all ingredients, instruction and of course, great fun!

Starters: Wasabi Prawns, Asparagus & Hollandaise tartlets
Main Event: Salmon en Croûte; Moroccan Lamb on a fig salad
Desserts: Hazelnut Pavlova; New York Cheesecake

Teen Cookery Courses will include:
Practical: This six week course is a hands-on approach aimed at creating an interest in cooking and having fun with food!
Knowledge: It gives a basic grounding in cookery, knife skills, health and safety and nutrition
Aim: At the end of six weeks a teen cook has the confidence to cook a meal for themselves and others in their own home.
Attention: With small classes of no more than 6 – individual attention is guaranteed.
How?: Sessions begin with a demonstration – followed by putting the theory into practice and producing food that can be eaten at the cookery school or taken home to show off your expertise.
Costs: €30.00 per session / €170.00 per course. The cost includes – ingredients for cooking, instruction, food to be eaten or taken home.
