It was a busy day at St Nicholas church when I got to work this morning and not a single place could be found on the nearby car park or on the side road. I had to drive around the cemetery and park by the other exit opposite the small bakery.
As I walked back to the office I cut through the graveyard and it struck me just how peaceful it was considering its’ close proximity to Griva Dighenis busy main road. When I reached the cemetery exit and the car park again it seemed that everyone was already leaving the church and making their way over the road to the cemetery.
At first I thought it was a funeral procession and wondered who was the cause of such a big gathering but nope, they all made their way back towards their cars clutching some kind of flower or leaves so I assume it was some kind of religious ceremony instead.
So, had I arrived ten minutes or so later I could have most likely had a space to park 😉 Never mind, the exercise probably did me good!
Anyway, as I headed back to collect my car after leaving the office for my half day (it’s Wednesday – again) I decided to grab a few photos with my phone – a Nokia 6111. These are from the opposite side to where my last photos were taken. (Link to my previous cemetery post here).
