This is something we thought we may try in a few years time as retirement age approaches. Preferably when we have no domestic pets left to consider.
We always approached it with the idea of renting a furnished place in the event of having to “cut and run” or “just in case” something happened….
And then earlier this year, all hell let loose which has made us rethink the situation for the foreseeable future. We haven’t totally dismissed the idea and our place of choosing would probably be Luxor rather than Cairo.
After living for a little over 7yrs in Cyprus moving elsewhere is no longer the upheaval that we first imagined. In fact, it’s been relatively simple and we have no qualms in relocating to another “foreign” destination.
So finding an intriguing blog today entitled “London to Cairo” via twitter has given us some more food for thought.
I think as long as you have enough funds to be able to just up sticks and disappear on the first plane out should the need arise, you shouldn’t worry too much.
However, if planning to move to Egypt and work for a living – I feel it could be a very different story and requires a lot more thought and planning.
We’re looking forward to another trip to Egypt next year from Cyprus to do a Nile cruise with friends from Cyprus and hopefully another friend from UK….
