Yesterday we went to have a quick schmooz around the Louis Cruises ship MS Calypso in anticipation of our mini cruise coming soon.
Iliana, the lady I have been dealing with regarding our reservation met us at the terminal building and took us very swiftly through the check-in and passport areas. Off we went up the gangplank amid the luggage coming off ship. The ship had only been in port a short time so the onboard passengers hadn’t started to disembark.
We managed a quick peek around some of the public areas and at the Deluxe Cabins that we have booked. They look absolutely fine and we’re very happy with them. All we have to do now, is pay!
Afterwards as it was so hot, we decided it was definitely time to head to the beach so off we went to Curium Beach for a swim. It was very breezy and there were some great waves about. In we went with our boogie boards fighting our way through the waves. We were soon swamped by the waves with seawater in our eyes, ears and mouth. Yuk!
Then we had to wrestle our way back to the beach whilst the waves kept trying to take our legs from under us. Great fun!
Hey, and then the hunger pangs set in a short time afterwards which meant we had to fulfill them. Away we went to the Kourion restaurant (the first one you come to as you reach the beach) where our friend Marinos works. A peruse of the menu tempted us to all things good but some of us became concerned with “desserts” and had to make a fast decision…. Something lighter to eat so we could fit in a “pudding” or forgoe the dessert and stick to a main meal?
The dessert won the day! So for me, it was halloumi & lountza toasted sandwich followed by cherry pie and ice cream. Three of us went for the desserts but Clem was a boring old fart and just had the main meal. He’s a savoury man rather than a sweet toothed guy. 😀
