Cyprus Life – in pictures vs Fylde Coast Musings

Our new life in Cyprus began in early March 2004. Originally from a small mill town in Heywood, Lancashire (United Kingdom) we moved overseas spending a glorious 12 years in Limassol. Feel free to read my posts and view my many #photosofCyprus. However in 2016 we had to return permanently to UK due to family ill health. We're now living on the Fylde coast where the river Wyre meets the Irish sea in the north west of England. More places for us to discover as this part of the UK is not so familiar to us either.

Devon Cream Tea – which is the right way?

So, yesterday we were out at the Buccaneer Pub in Erimi having lunch with our good friends Barry, Vera, Helen & Dave.

We do manage to cover a multitude of subjects during our get togethers and in the space of a couple of hours we somehow managed to get on to cream teas! I think it was because someone mentioned Anna’s Tea Room in Souni…

Well apparently it seems that the way to do a Devon Cream Tea requires putting the cream on the scone first and then the jam, otherwise it isn’t a true “Devon” cream tea.

We reckon it’s pretty impossible to put jam on top of cream without losing it all – so, for all you Devon people out there please come and put us out of our misery. Is this story for real, or not?

Just to remind you what a Cream Tea looks like…. mmmmm 🙂

This is the way we do ours. Jam first and then the cream.

I'm "Shell" or Michele - formerly a UK Expat living in Cyprus since March 2004. Sadly, we had to return to UK in April 2016 due to family illness.
