Cyprus Life – in pictures vs Fylde Coast Musings

Our new life in Cyprus began in early March 2004. Originally from a small mill town in Heywood, Lancashire (United Kingdom) we moved overseas spending a glorious 12 years in Limassol. Feel free to read my posts and view my many #photosofCyprus. However in 2016 we had to return permanently to UK due to family ill health. We're now living on the Fylde coast where the river Wyre meets the Irish sea in the north west of England. More places for us to discover as this part of the UK is not so familiar to us either.

So, if you’ve seen my earlier posting about whether to buy a Kindle e-reader or not you may already have an idea why we were in Public store at My Mall this morning πŸ™‚

We went to have a little look around to get more of an idea of the look, feel and size of these things. We were very disappointed that every e-reader in the Public store were out of battery life and obviously showing signs of being very “unloved” 😦

Besides that, they are stoooopid prices here in Cyprus. Looks like I will have to order from Amazon.com for $139 instead.

After a wander around the bottom level of My Mall and into Accapella music store at the opposite end (not a Kindle or an e-reader in sight in this store) we did notice the iPad was cheaper than in Public πŸ˜€ But – there’s an even cheaper place on the opposite side on the lower level πŸ˜‰

We popped into the Marks and Spencer store too and almost fell over at their clothing prices. They are even sillier than the electrical stores!!!

Next stop we decided we would call into Lidl’s and pick up some dog food and a few bits and bobs – but got led astray by a mysterious ship funnel we could see from Franklin Roosevelt Ave as we were making our way towards the New Port Road.

Of course, we just had to take a look. Gran Bretagna - a cruise with a difference

It was one of the Grimaldi Lines freighters that was in port – the Gran Bretagna. Although she is a freighter ship she does have passenger cabins and you can book to travel with your car.

So if you ever fancy taking a simple cruise from Cyprus and stopping off with your car in Italy – it’s possible. A round trip is approx 35 days so you can have a holiday and come back the same way.
