Cyprus Life – in pictures

My new life in Cyprus in images and words. I'm a British 50 something female, originally from a small mill town in Heywood, Lancashire (United Kingdom) and came to live in Limassol, Cyprus in March 2004. This is my photo blog about my new life as an expat on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. Plus other things which catch my attention every once in a while…. Enjoy!

Epiphany holiday in Cyprus – 6 January

A public holiday for me means getting out and about and either revisiting places, exploring new villages or heading to the beach in Cyprus. A lot depends on the time of year and the weather, of course!

Some of my favourite photos taken in Pissouri last Monday…. a nice long weekend for me and the third short week in a row. Dammit, from this week it means 4 and a half days in work until the next public holiday! Roll on Monday 3rd March :)

I never make resolutions for New Year simply because I don’t really agree with the forces of “having to do….”

But for 2014 I decided to break my own rule and I’ve made my New Year’s Resolution – to visit the beach as often as possible!

We decided to start as we meant to go on – so here you are, proof we went to the beach at Ancient Kourion (Curium Beach, Episkopi, Limassol in sunny Cyprus), this morning 1st January 2014.

Greek Independence Day in Limassol Old Town – 25 March 2013

Yes, you’ve guessed it!

Greek Independence Day is also celebrated in Cyprus – it’s another public holiday…. We have 3 in a row in Cyprus (18th, 25th March and 1st April which is also known as EOKA Day).

We decided to have a change for Greek Independence Day and chose to head off into Limassol Old Town for the afternoon rather than making for our usual spot at Curium Beach and the Kourion Beach Restaurant. After all, one can’t allow Marinos “the best waiter in town” to get too complacent regarding our visits! :-)

So, below are a few photos of the day:
