Keep Calm and Carry On slogan – should it belong to just one person?
Here’s how you can help to “fight the fight with all thy might”….
This campaign is still an ongoing issue and assistance from far and wide is needed before 4th June 2012.
Your help is needed to preserve the Keep Calm and Carry On slogan for worldwide use and not restricted to the greedy clutches of Mark Coop.
Barter Books rediscovered a poster in an old box a number of years ago and it became so popular it was being reproduced in posters, on t-shirts, mugs, coasters and many more items until Mark Coop came along and decided to trademark it.
See my last article: “Hundreds of people have signed an online petition against a Surrey businessman who is preventing other traders using the slogan and its accompanying George VI crown.”
Below is a short video of how the poster was discovered:
For shops and online sellers: if you have been selling items with this slogan or know of people who have been selling products with the slogan before 18 October 2010 your help is needed as fast as possible. Fight the trademark – FAST!
This below is from the Keep Calm and Carry On campaign website:
Please, if you have any info we would really appreciate your help.
Here are the details of what info is needed:
- Info about any retailers who sell Keep Calm products – Info of what KEEP CALM products they sold prior to 10/10/2010
- Info about any manufacturers who supply Keep Calm products – to whom and when and volumes supplied – particularly prior to 18/10/2010
- Manufacturers who supply Keep Calm products to other European countries - to whom and when and volumes supplied – particularly prior to 18/10/2010
- Any references in the press of retailers selling Keep Calm phrase on products and popularity of this phrase on products, particularly before before 18/10/2010
The trademark is being fiercely fought as we are passionate that KEEP CALM should not be trade marked but rather should be free for all to use.
Please pass this information to anyone that you think can help.
